The drivers of Gene Haas Tony Stewart Racing switched their fortunes this week at Bristol. Ryan Newman placed in 6th for the day and Smoke finished in 27th. While Kyle Busch was making history with his sweep at Bristol, our drivers were making moves in the standings.

Tony Stewart lost 2 places in the standings to slip to 6th overall, but still keeping him in a good position when the Chase field is set. Newman, on the other hand, is on the outside looking in, but has put himself within arm’s reach of a berth in the Chase. He still has to overcome a 118 deficientcy in short order.

How will the drama of the Sprint Cup play out in the closing weeks before the Chase? We will have to wait until the weekend when the boys roll into Atlanta.
