Stewart placed 9th moving him up 1 place in the standings to #10 while Ryan Newman got a respectable 16th place finish leaving him stranded at #15 in the overall rankings.

Smoke grabbed the lead during lap 35 and held it until he had to pit in the race that Jimmie Johnson eventually won. Johnson earned that top spot after Stephen Ambrose made a misjudgment and stopped his engine to save fuel but ended up being stranded on an uphill part of the track.

Overall, Gene Hass Tony Stewart put together a top 10 and a top 20 finish for a productive weekend out west.
